| No CommentThe second annual Moving Towards a Cure event kicked off this weekend in Clearwater.
A brain cancer survivor started the event, and proceeds go towards researching a brain cancer vaccine.
“This experimental vaccine is a vaccine that I received,” said event organizer Bob Gibbs. “It’s kept me alive for the last year and a half. I want others to have access to that vaccine, so that’s what the proceeds are going to.”
Registration for the “Miles for Hope” race began at 6 a.m. Saturday. Participants could take part in everything from a one-mile walk to a 100K bike ride.
Activities continued throughout the day, including a charity concert.
