Deciding between homes in Clearwater / Tampa vs Ft.Myers areas? Please help!?

Hello my family and I want to go on vacation to Florida. We are interested in the beaches of Tampa, as Indian Rocks Beach, the beach, etc. and taking into account Bellair rent beach condo. We also like Ft.Myers area, as well looks pretty in pictures. We want to rent an apartment or a house there. What is a beautiful beach town near where her car Ftmyers are quiet and available? Please help us decide which area is best suited for a quiet family beach vacation with a baby. Where do we get more out of every dollar in terms of rent or ft.myers Tampa area? There are no hotels, vacation rentals, either alone condo or a house (if its not too expensive). Our maximum budget is 1700 for the week in the accommodation. There is no place too high or wild teens, etc. not to swim in the water, but you sit in the sand, enjoy climate. Thank you very much much!

I live in St. Augustine Florida and I've been in both places. If it goes down during spring break, avoid Fort Myers. Otherwise, Fort Myers is my favorite. And if you like tranquility, take a look at Sanibel Island. It is part of Fort Myers. This is the place to go to relax on the beach all the noise. Bon voyage!
