Man Jumps into Waterway in Escape Attempt from Police

Clearwater Police say a man they were trying to arrest jumped in water to try to escape.

Jonathan Hanson jumped into the intercoastal waterway. A passing boater pulled Hanson from the water after he tired.

Hanson faces three grand theft charges and one charge of resisting arrest without violence. He may also face additional charges.
