Pinellas Park Woman and 3 dogs, found dead

| No CommentThe body of a woman and three dogs were found today inside a house damaged by a fire that apparently had burned itself out, fire officials said.
Firefighters were called to
4460 67th Avenue North by a sister of the victim who had been unable to contact her, said Lt. Gary Berkheimer of the Pinellas Park Fire Department. The sister came to the house to check on her sister’s welfare. When she entered and found smoke in the building, she called 911.
Firefighters found the bodies of the woman and the three dogs. They determined the fire apparently burned itself out, leaving smoke and smoke damage in the building.
The house was well secured and no windows were open, Lt. Berkheimer said.
It is not known when the fire actually occurred, or what caused it. The victim’s cause of death is also undetermined.
The incident is being investigated by the Pinellas Park Fire Department, Pinellas Park Police Arson Investigator, State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Forensics Unit, with assistance from an arson dog from the Lealman Fire Department.
